About Bugle Boys

John Livings with the Bugle Boys

The original show, Bugle Boys: A Salute to The Andrews Sisters, was conceived and written by John Livings, originally produced by Moira Bennett in Australia, and saw its stage debut at Melbourne’s Chapel Off Chapel in October 2015.

It was an instant hit with young and old audience members alike, garnering rave reviews and sell-out performances. In February 2016, Bugle Boys (dis)graced The Famous Spiegeltent in Canberra, and the following month packed houses at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

In 2017, John and Moira relocated to Edinburgh and partnered with Civil Disobedience to present a UK production of the show at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Starring local actors and performers, Ewan James Armstrong, Martin MacLennan and Tom Harlow as Maxene, Patty and Laverne, its inaugural Fringe run went down a treat with both punters and critics.

It was co-produced by Bugle Boys Pty/Civil Disobedience and directed by Barry Church-Woods, with an adapted script by John.
